Testimonies, Tips, and Tidbits

Testimonies, tips, and tidbits? What a mouthful. What kind of book would have such a variety of stories and topics? In this collection of written works you will find humorous stories revealing the antics of small children in church, mini-testimonials of God’s work in my life, tips learned from years of working in children’s ministry, and tidbits that God and others have taught me over the years. I hope you enjoy reading about these experiences from my life, and I pray you can see how God works in the midst of even our darkest times.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has truly transformed my life. He met and encouraged me at a time when I desired to end my life, and attempted to do so. But I am alive—and here today—to testify that God pulled me of the mud and mire of living in a marriage with an abusive, alcoholic husband and dealing with several other difficult circumstances at the same time. Living in this situation brought me to the lowest point of my life, and I literally tried to commit suicide. But God lifted me out of the darkest pit and gave me a new life that is filled with joy, love, peace, hope, and many other blessings and promises from God. As Scripture says, “I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord, (…).” (Psalm 40:1-3 NIV) God has truly done this in my life!

God stopped me from committing suicide. He healed my broken heart and gave me a new life, and a new marriage. Since He has done this for me, I know God can do it for others too. Whether it’s a bad marriage, an addiction, or a broken heart because of other circumstances, I know God can heal and bring good out of the horrible circumstances—if people will only commit to following Him, and giving Him a chance. Committing suicide would have robbed me of many things, and I praise God that He stopped me from making that terrible mistake. No matter how hopeless our situation looks, in Christ there is always hope and the promise of a better life ahead!

Testimonies, Tips and Tidbits is a book project that I began working on. However, I have decided to put the pages of this project on my pages at https://faithwriters.com and on two new blogs: https://christianeducationstation.com and https://testimoniestipstidbits.com

The blog https://christianeducationstation.com contains stories from my walk with God. It begins with my first encounters with God and His people as a preschooler and continues on throughout the rest of my days. On this blog you will find humorous stories from my encounters with children in Sunday School, tips learned while working in various ministries and tidbits God showed me along the way. You will also find some fun Bible activities and eventually some reviews on Bible study books I’ve worked through. You will also find testimonies of God’s intervention in my church life and see how He was faithful to help me overcome. God is always on the job and He has His people in the palm of His hand, protecting them, even if they don’t realize they need it. God will intervene and work miracles on behalf of His people.

The blog https://testimoniestipstidbits.com contains testimonies and stories from my personal life and walk with God. There are ups and downs, mountains and valleys, and times of desperation and hopelessness. These experiences are common to those who walk on this journey we call the path of life. Though I struggled, God was with me all the time and He was faithful to bring me through the great temptations, tests and trials. God came me the strength to overcome, even when the situation seemed hopeless.

The testimonies, tips and tidbits come from my life as I walked with God and ministered to His people. I would like to share them freely with other believers in hope of admonishing, encouraging and providing stories with humor and wisdom for those who wish to read and learn from them. So enjoy! I pray you can glean something from these testimonials.

Scripture tells us we need to study God’s Word. Deuteronomy 11:18-21 says, “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the Lord swore to give your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.” It is my desire to share God’s word and these stories to encourage and help others fulfill the commands of the Lord in their lives through this writing ministry. Though these words are from the Old Testament and meant for the Jewish people, I believe the Lord wants us to have this same passion for sharing and teaching God’s word to others, including our children. God wants us to fix His words in our hearts and minds. In the New Testament God gives us two commands: (1) Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and (2) Love your neighbor as yourself. As I endeavor to do this, God guides and helps me, and gives me strength to continue on in times of temptation, testing, trials, and weariness.

The stories in this collection are true but the names have purposely been excluded to keep the people anonymous. So when you have some time to sit back, relax, and read, check out the stories on these blogs to see how God can touch your life, bring beauty from ashes, hope and life out of circumstances that Satan, our adversary, meant to use to cause deception, destruction and even death. Thank you God for taking the bad in my life, bringing good out of it, and using me to help others and bring glory to You! Nothing is impossible with God!
